If you’re looking for tasty sauce alternatives to the typical, and disgusting, ketchup, mayo, and ranch, here are four:
The best option on this list is KFC’s Finger Lickin’ Good Sauce. The taste is comparable to pickle juice, a little bit of honey mustard, and something else that I haven’t figured out yet. I like this option for its tang and strong flavor. While FLG sauce tastes great with KFC’s chicken, in my home it is no stranger to countless food items from other fast food places.
The second best option is Chick-fil-A’s Honey Roasted Barbeque. A mix of barbeque and honey mustard, this sauce is a perfect blend of balanced smokiness and sweetness. Typically the honey roasted barbeque accompanies grilled sandwiches at Chick-fil-A, but I believe it tastes great with any of the other sandwiches on the menu or their fries.
Wendy’s S’Awsome Sauce and McDonald's Signature Sauce tie on the list because they are essentially the same thing. I am 100 percent convinced that these two sauces are the same sauce yet they don’t taste the same. However, the unidentifiable difference is not enough to separate them on this list. The flavor of both is just a less powerful FLG Sauce, so if you're looking to use sauce anywhere, I would just recommend having FLG sauce on hand.
However, the publications team did not agree. Rather, Honey Roasted Barbeque was ranked number one, Finger Lickin’ Good was number two, Signature sauce came in third, and S’Awesome fourth. Tyger Callahan believed that the FLG sauce looked quite a bit like thousand island dressing and the review team unanimously agreed that Honey Roasted Barbeque, the thickest of our sauces, had an unmistakable liquid cheese look. You can view the Publication teams full ranking of the sauces below.
An honorable mention is Barbeque sauce specifically from Culvers.
