On Tuesday, May 21, Raising Student Voice and Participation (RSVP) is running an event at Chick-Fil-A to raise money for a therapy dog. The event will take place from 4-8 p.m. and will be held at the location on 53rd Street.
The students’ wish for therapy dogs at the high school has been present for many years, but this is the first year that the idea has gained traction. The implementation of therapy dogs was one of the most highly voted on changes by the student body, and as a result, RSVP made it a top priority.
Through talks with administration, school board, and potential owners, the outlook on therapy dogs at the high school is bright, but fundraising is still needed to support the dogs. If you would like to help fundraise for the dogs, come to Chick-Fil-A tonight and say that you are with Bettendorf.
