All BHS students advance to state in National History Day

March 6, 2019

Six students have placed first or second in their categories at the St. Ambrose National History Day competition Monday.

National History Day provides participants with the ability to create documentaries, exhibits, papers, performances and websites about the annual theme, which is “Triumph and Tragedy” this year.

The competitors from Bettendorf High School this year were Ava Abbott with an individual exhibit, Clarisse Roscio with an individual website, Emily Knight and Sarah Giese with a group website and Noah Raso with an individual documentary.

Clarisse Roscio also took the Drs. Rachel and Art Serianz Award for Excellence in the History of Science.

This is the first year Bettendorf High School will be sending students to the state competition. It will take place in Des Moines on April 29.
