Drama department presents spring musical

The drama department will be presenting the spring musical, “The Sound of Music” this weekend. On April 12-14, the show will start at 7 p.m., and on April 15 the show will start at 1 p.m.

“The Sound of Music” is based on the true story of the Von Trapp family singers. In the stage production, a young postulant, Maria, is sent away from the abbey to become a nanny for Captain Georg Von Trapp’s seven children. Maria and the Captain eventually fall in love, but are faced with the challenge of escaping Austria after it is taken over by the Nazis.

All performances will take place in the Performing Arts Center and tickets cost $10. Activity passes will not be accepted. Tickets can be purchased in person in the Activities Office or online.
