Temperatures to drop; ice and snow will create hazardous conditions

January 11, 2018

While temps will start out in the 50s on Thursday morning, they will quickly fall around 11 a.m.

Temps will drop below 30° by 1 p.m. allowing for rain to switch over to freezing rain.

The Iowa Department of Transportation said via Twitter that "depending on the timing of this storm and low air/pavement temperatures, removing ice from the roadway may take a couple of days."

These hazardous conditions will create some major delays during the evening rush hour commute.
