LECLAIRE — TugFest donation money intended for a local boy that was stolen has been returned, according to TugFest Iowa.

In a post on Facebook, TugFest Iowa President Kari Long said the money stolen from TugFest was returned to her through the mail.

The money was intended for five-year-old Cooper  Drudge who fell out of a two-story window in June. Since then, Drudge has suffered from skull and several since fracutures.

The money was meant to be given to the family, but was stolen before it was able to be donated.

The Facebook post from TugFest Iowa can be read below:

"Evening all!

Today after work, I stopped by the Post Office to pick up the Tug Fest mail (I am sure that the mail ladies will be happy since our box was over full!) Anyway, I stuffed the mail into my passenger seat and went on about my business. Got home and set the mail on my desk and actually kind of forgot about it until later this evening. Opening the mail...all the usual envelopes after Fest is over...bills, bills and more bills, I come to the very last envelope...more of a package really. Hmmm...what could this be?? Well, take a look at what I found when I opened the package...all I can say is WOW! The original bracelet bag...and MONEY! No return address...no clues as to the sender but true to my word, NO questions asked!
To the person who sent this package back. THANK YOU! You will never know how much Cooper's family needs this! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
To all of the people who have supported our search for the missing money and to those of you who have given to this family since the search began, each one of you is a ROCK STAR!
To little Cooper, keep working hard buddy...we are ALL pulling for you!
Going to bed with a full heart tonight...so many prayers have been answered!
Kari Long"
