Congressional shooter spent time in the Quad Cities
The Washington Post says the congressional gunman who shot five, including Rep. Steve Scalise, spent time in the Quad Cities.
According to a St. Louis business owner, he and the gunman, 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, IL traveled together while campaigning for Bernie Sanders.
After canvassing Iowa, the two stayed at the home of another Bernie Sanders supporter in Rock Island.
Sanders said he is "sickened" by the shooting and condemns the act of violence.
President Trump announced in a press conference that Hodgkinson had died due to the injuries he sustained by police after he opened fire on members of Congress and others at a Congressional baseball practice in the Washington suburb of Alexandria, VA.
