In the midst of a heat wave moving through the Metro, high temperatures caused the Milan Beltway to buckle Sunday creating traffic delays.
The buckle occurred just east of U.S. 67 on the Beltway.
Drivers report that many slammed on their brakes as they approached the buckle due to no warnings.
Since that time, police have been on scene and warnings have been posted.
Traffic is being directed around the location of the buckle.
