Seniors reflect on their time in high school
“My favorite memory throughout high school was making show choir finals at Keokuk,” Katie Byrne said.
Byrne is attending Iowa State University next year and plans on double majoring in management information systems and computer science.
“What I will most about high school is seeing my best friends at school and hanging out with my family at home,” Byrne said.
Heidi O’Brien enjoyed meeting new people freshman year and going to school events.
“My favorite memory from senior year was planning for college,” O’Brien said.
O’Brien attended many sporting events throughout the years and always enjoyed the pep rallies.
“Next year I will be attending the University of Arkansas and hopefully become involved in their community service and hiking club,” O’Brien said.
Ryan Schade’s favorite high school memory was when his swimming relay team took first place in the 200 medley relay by over a second.
“Freshman year I enjoyed taking a variety of classes and getting to know more people since that was my first year in the Bettendorf school district,” Schade said.
Schade’s favorite senior year memory was attending prom with his friends.
“I am going to miss the teachers that I have met and the friends I have made throughout my years at BHS. It will be fun to keep in touch and see where life takes us,” Schade said.
Schade will attend California Baptist University next year where he will continue his swimming career. He plans on studying aviation flight and aerospace engineering.
Mackenzie Slade’s favorite high school memory was cheering for football games on Friday nights.
“I am going to miss the pep rallies and the football games,” Slade said.
Slade is attending the University of Iowa and is going in undecided.
