Bettendorf couple confirmed dead in Kentucky plane crash

HOPKINSVILLE, Kentucky (Bettendorf Growl) — Officials say a couple was killed in a plane crash in southern Kentucky Friday Morning as it made its way to Alabama. 

 

The victims have been identified as Dominic "Dom" and Dr. Dianne Giammetta of Bettendorf. 

 

Dom was the pilot of the plane that was flying from the Davenport Municipal Airport to Muscle Shoals, Alabama. 

 

Dr. Giammetta was an OB/GYN at Medical Arts Associates in Moline. 

 

Dom was the owner of Fred's Towing Service. 

 

The plane crashed in a heavily wooded area. 

 

The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
