MOUNT PLEASANT (Bettendorf Growl) — Officials confirm a tornado touched down in southeast Iowa during a line of severe storms that moved through the area on Wednesday.

The tornado touched down south of Mount Pleasant at about 3 p.m., but no damage or injuries were reported.

Spotters said the tornado touched down about three minutes west of Salem, Iowa, but lifted before reaching the town.

Officials in Mount Pleasant also say the tornado didn't have enough time to reach residents.
