Out with the old, in with the new
Many people like to binge watch shows and movies on Netflix, but some of their favorite titles may be leaving Netflix soon. Each month, new shows, movies, and Netflix Originals are added to Netflix, but some older shows and movies are removed to make room for the new ones. Last year, some favorites, such as “Cupcake Wars Collection” and “House Hunters,” were removed from Netflix.
Some of the titles leaving during April 2017 include “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986), “Bones” (first four seasons), and “House, M.D.” (eight seasons). Some of the titles being added to Netflix during April 2017 include “The Secret Life of Pets” (2016), “Schindler’s List” (1993), “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” (season two), and “Scooby-Doo” (2002).
Recently, “13 Reasons Why”, a Netflix Original Series directed by Selena Gomez, was added to Netflix. Universal first bought the rights to the story to make a movie, but a year later the story was converted to a series. The series is based on a 2007 young adult novel by Jay Asher. The main character, Clay, relives Hannah’s final days on tape before she took her own life. Season one has 13 episodes which go along with the book’s chapters. The end of season one takes a slight detour from the book, which leaves the option for a second season. The series has not yet been renewed, but it also has not been cancelled.
