“I have been preparing for track season by lifting in the weight room and training at Augustana College with a few other girls on the team two days a week,” Hailey Behning said.
Behning, senior, is looking forward to being with her team again and working towards their goal of winning conference and state.
“My personal goal is to make it to Drake and state in a few events, but especially the 400 hurdles and the shuttle hurdle relay,” Behning said.
Nyah Block, junior, has also been training at Augustana College and attending offseason lifting.
“My goal is to get a personal record in both the 800 and 1500,” Block said.
Eleanor Drexler, junior, plays two sports in the winter season, which keeps her in shape.
“I have also been going to hurdling workouts every Sunday with a small group of girls,” Drexler said.
Drexler is looking forward to the track meets and spending time with her teammates.
“You become close with your team because of all the time spent together,” Drexler said.
Drexler’s personal goals for this season are to qualify for Drake and state.
“I am looking forward to being with all my track friends again and going to Drake and state,” Emma Ostrom said.
Ostrom, junior, has been preparing for the season by going to after school lifting and running on her own.
“I want to go to Drake or state for an individual event or get in the top eight for a relay,” Ostrom said.
Track season begins on Feb. 13, with morning and after school practices.
