“Aerie is proud to support and showcase the All Woman Project’s newest campaign, a photographic tribute to to real, untouched beauty,” the Aerie blog said.
Aerie, American Eagle’s store for lingerie, is celebrating U-Day instead of Valentine's Day this February. The focus is for you to be happy and celebrate everything you love about you.
“Aerie Real is our commitment to empowering and inspiring confidence in all girls, inside and out,” the Aerie blog said.
This campaign started last year by Charli Howard and Clémentine Desseaux. Their goal is to change the standards of beauty that are shown in the media.
Aerie is aimed at women ages 15 to 21, a prime age where the media influences the standards of women’s beauty. The U-Day campaign is to show teens who love the brand that it’s ok to have flaws. Some ways the organization accomplishesthis is by featuring women with all different body types, ages, and ethnicities.
Aerie is encouraging everyone to celebrate U-Day this February, and share how you celebrate using the hashtag #AerieREAL.
