MOLINE — One department store at SouthPark Mall will be switching from its current set-up to a new way of shopping.
In mid-to-late February, Dillard’s will be switching to an outlet-like store.
All clothes at the store will be priced equal to that of clothes 65 percent off at regular stores, such as the NorthPark Dillard’s.
The new store will diminish have check-outs throughout the store, but moving them to a central location.
The store won’t have as spread out of a selection either.
According to a Dillard’s employee, only about half the store will be used for merchandise.
Currently, the housewares and children’s section of the store has been cleared and moved closer to the center of the store.
The fragrance and cologne department will also be removed from the store.
Right now, all merchandise at the Dillard’s is 20 percent off. Anything that doesn’t sell will be transferred to other stores in the district such as NorthPark and Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville.
The store will still operate under the Dillard’s name and will sell marked down merchandise that does not sell at other locations.
The store is on the north end of the mall, closest to John Deere Expressway.
