Girls volleyball continues successful streak

The volleyball team has proved itself time and time again, and the varsity match against Davenport Central on Oct. 17 was no exception.

Sophomore Ally Grothusen finished off the first set with a spike, leading the Bulldogs 25-20. The Blue Devils came back during the second set and had a close margin for most of the set. Ultimately the Bulldogs won 25-21.

Finally, the team took over the third set with a strong start, earning it the first four points. Senior Claire Leonard helped the team with her strong serves and spikes. Bulldogs won the set 25-13 after a strong serve from junior Grace Erpelding.

The winning game meant that the team was now undefeated MAC Champions. Not only did the team celebrate victory, but it was also senior night. Five seniors were honored: Katie Byrne, Lacey Clark, Jorgie Heimendinger, Kaylin Kuhn, and Claire Leonard.

The Regional semifinal match will take place at Bettendorf High School on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
