Bulldogs set to take on Wildcats

Coming off an impressive 36-16 victory against the high powered offense of Clinton, the Bulldogs are set to take on Davenport North this Friday at Touvelle Stadium.

Against Clinton, the Dogs were having trouble with Clinton’s pass-oriented offense, but settled in and made the defensive plays necessary. Senior Keegan Glaus had an excellent game against the River Kings, with 212 rushing yards, three touchdowns (20 points total on the night), and 3.5 total tackles on the defensive side.

Senior quarterback JMichael Young once again rushed a touchdown in as well as a passing touchdown to senior Suni Lane. Lane pulled in 10 receptions for a total of 120 yards.

At home this week, Bettendorf looks to improve its district record with a win against Davenport North. North is currently 1-5, their only win being against city rival Davenport West. Quarterback Rudy Juarez has 916 total yards and six touchdowns this season.

The matchup for Friday night seems to be a great opportunity for the Bulldogs to increase strength and stats for upcoming top-ten ranked Iowa City High. So when the stadium lights turn on, the bleachers are filled, and the sun sets this Friday, Bettendorf football will take the field against Davenport North.
