With the third meet of its season completed, the girls cross country team is looking to the future. With a strong first place finish for junior varsity and third place finish for varsity at the Lancer Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 13, the team is competing well.
One runner, Kiana Castro, a senior and first year member of the high school team, said she enjoys the sport because, “It has a great team atmosphere, but it’s also individual.”
After a first place finish at MAC and a third place team finish at state last year, the team is hoping to come back strong in October.
The girls will compete in Ames at the Roosevelt Classic on Saturday, Sept. 17.
