Tremendous start to the track season
On March 23, girls track placed first at City High in Iowa City.
Girls also had an indoor meet at Augustana which was varsity only.
There are about 45 members to girls track team. Their last meet was last Thursday at North Scott.
Although the girls are looking foward to upcoming meets and districts in Cedar Rapids which falls on the same day as prom, April 30. Even though some of the seniors won’t be going to prom, they are still going to give it their all that day.
“For me I just want to do my best and prepare myself for my college career,” Amber Jerson said.
“Track season has been going well, and I think the team will have great season,” said senior Tasia Comer.
“Track has been going well,” said senior Zach Whitesides.
As of right now the boys are technically undefeated, but they have had meets in Sterling, Augustana, one other place (of and they had a meet lat Saturday at Cedar Rapids.
“I am running in the open 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. I also participate in long jump. My season is going great. I PR’d in all of my events. I accomplished my goal which was getting under a 11.0 second 100 meter dash. I’ve also accomplished my goal in getting under a 22.5 second 200 meter dash. Also, I just want the team to do great things and for as many people as possible to qualify for state,” Carlos Wilson said.
