Be ready to act on the ACT

With the ACT right around the corner, Students are getting prepared for one of the biggest test of their high school careers. The ACT can seem stressful if your not prepared but with these quick tips, these will hopefully help you feel more confident about your test.

  • Buy an ACT Preparation book. This will help you become more familiar with the test and what type of questions it will ask. Its very important that that when buying an ACT prep-book that it is certified by the ACT Test makers.

  • During the test don’t change your answers, it’s usually in your best option stick with your first choice. By second guessing during the test it can cause a panic.

  • During the test don't skip questions. On the ACT all correct questions are counted towards your overall score, so getting a question wrong won't penalize your score.

  • Start a study group, this can be a fun way to hang out with friends too. By starting a study it may make studying for the test feel less big and something you as a group can accomplish.

  • Get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast. You don’t want to be groggy during the test or get the coffee crash, you want your brain to be at 100 percent. By sleeping well and eating a nutritious breakfast, kinda make your life feel put together and ready.

  • Make sure to bring needed supplies, For the ACT you would need your admission ticket, a photo ID, preferably driver's licence or school ID, Number two pencils with good erasers. Most importantly leave your cell phones at home! If any notification goes off you will be ask to leave and your test will be over.

Yes, the ACT can seem scary, but in reality there is nothing to fear. You the test taker can take the test as many time as you want. Talk to your teachers and your counselors there all here to help you Feel ready for the ACT.
