Deere to lay off 100 workers

February 26, 2016

MOLINE — Deere & Company has informed 100 manufacturing workers that they will be laid off indefinitely, effective April 1. The layoffs will take place at the Davenport and Dubuque factories.

Approximately 80 of the layoffs will take place at the Davenport Works facility, while the remaining 20 will affect the Dubuque location.

It's all part of Deere’s attempt to balance the size of its manufacturing workforce to market demand at individual factories.

Deere has laid off nearly 1,500 workers in recent years at Midwest locations.
