“Deadpool” is a hit at the box office *Spoiler Review*
“Deadpool” is nothing more than the most hilarious “superhero” movie I have ever seen.
“Deadpool” opens with a title sequence but instead of naming the actors in the movie they show “a moody teen, a CGI character, and God's Perfect Idiot.”
Wade Wilson is a former special op who works as a mercenary. He meets escort Vanessa at a local bar, and they become romantically attached. Months later, Wade proposes to her and she accepts, but suddenly he passes out.
Wade is diagnosed with cancer throughout his whole body and though Vanessa sticks by his side, he doesn't want her to watch him die.
A mysterious man approaches Wade with an experimental way to cure his cancer. He denies the man at first but later decides to leave Vanessa and undergo the procedure. At the lab, Wade meets Ajax, the man with “cure.”
Ajax injects Wade with a drug to wake up the mutant genes. Then he is put through weeks of torture to induce stress and trigger the mutation.
When all hope was lost Wade is put into an airtight chamber which raises and lowers the oxygen level to keep him constantly on the verge of suffocating.
After being in the chamber for several days Wade develops a healing factor which fights his cancer, but cancer reacts and leaves him with disfigured face and skin.
Wade considers returning to Vanessa but is afraid that she will hate his appearance, so he decides to stay away from her and hunt down Ajax.
He becomes the masked vigilante Deadpool. He tracks down Ajax to a caravan of cars on an express, and he kills all the escorts and corners Ajax. The confrontation is interrupted by two “X-men” who have been trying to recruit Deadpool. Ajax escapes during the distraction. After the escape, Ajax, goes to the local bar to Vanessa. She is then kidnapped so Deadpool will have to rescue the damsel in distress.
I thought “Deadpool” was a hilarious movie. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool was great. He co-wrote the script for the movie. which adds a lot of the language, gore, and violence to the table. It's rated R for a reason, though. There's lots of gore, violence, bad language, and some sexual content. That resulted in a lower budget film because most of the producers backed out of the film because that would mean fewer people in the seats. “Deadpool” deserves 9/10 stars.
